The document provides information about underground railway systems in six cities and the most popular leisure activities in the United States in 1999 and 2009. It details that London's underground railway, opened earliest in 1863, had over twice as many route kilometers as Paris and Tokyo but fewer yearly passengers. Washington D.C.'s network, opened later, had much less route and ridership. While Kyoto and Los Angeles opened at different times, Los Angeles now has over triple Kyoto's route kilometers and higher ridership. Walking was the most common leisure activity in both years but jogging, aerobics and bicycling declined, while swimming increased in popularity from 1999 to 2009.

The table below gives information about the underground railway
systems in six cities.
The table provides information about the underground railway systems in six cities. In general, because of being opened in different years, the quantities of kilometers of route and passengers per year varied in six systems. To specify, since London system appeared in the earliest period in 1863, it was at least two times higher than Paris and Tokyo ones in the number of kilometers of route. However, its quantity of passengers per year was much lower. While it revealed only 775 million passengers, Paris and Tokyo ones had 1191 and 1927 million ones, respectively. By comparison, Washington DC network which appeared nearly fifty years later than Tokyo and Paris ones showed insignificant figures of kilometers of route with 126 and passengers with 144 million. Strikingly, only in Kyoto and Los Angeles systems was a different pattern seen. Although the latter came into being twenty years later than the former, its quantities of kilometers and passengers per year were higher. For instance, the latter nearly tripled the former in the number of kilometers with 28 against 11.
The pie charts describe the information of the most popular leisure activities in the United States in 1999 and 2009. In general, although different activities revealed various figures, walking was the most prevalent in two years. To specify, soccer, camping and walking remained nearly unchanged in the percentage of leisure activities. For example, while soccer stayed at about 17% over two years, camping stood at 8% in both periods. However, a downward trend was noticed in activities, including jogging, aerobics and bicycling. Jogging decreased by around two times from 7% to 3% whereas aerobics went down from 12% to 5% after a decade. By comparison, the rest activity experienced the most significant fall from 13% to only 4% over the years. By contrast, swimming was the only activity that gained popularity and rose from 9% to 18% after ten years. Strikingly, only in yoga and weight-lifting was a different pattern seen with the former exclusively appearing on the list of leisure activities in 1999 and the latter in 2009.
