Curriculum Plan

Topic/Title of Lesson: Gravity or magnetism Focused Domain: Gross Motor

Goal: Children will learn which force is a stronger gravity or magnetism?

Objective: Children will investigate how magnetism can be more powerful than
gravity then ability of sound to travel through an object.

Procedure: Tie a piece of thread to a paperclip stand a shoe box vertically.
Tape the end of the thread to another paperclip then place a magnet on the
shoebox and record what happens with the 2 paperclips.

Advanced Preparation: purchase a magnet, get a shoe box and print
observation sheet.

List Materials: string, shoebox, observation sheet, paper clips and tape

Developmental Benefits: Fine Motor, Sensory, Social, hand and eye
coordination and Language and cognitive, gross motor

Future Plans: Take the kids on a trip to the childrens museum in Oak Lawn.
