Curriculum Plan

Topic/Title of Lesson: Turning salt water into drinking water Focused Domain:

Goal: for children to explore ways to take salt out of salt water.

Objective: Children will learn how to turn salt water into drinking water.

Procedure: Have the children mix the salt into the water bowl and stir
thoroughly until it is fully dissolved. Cover the bowl with sturdy plastic wrap and
seal the edges tightly. Place bowl in the sun light and wait several hours.

Advanced Preparation: N/A

List Materials: Water, table salt mixing bowl and plastic wrap.

Developmental Benefits: Fine Motor, Sensory, Social, hand and eye
coordination and Language and cognitive, gross motor

Future Plans: next we will see how water can go from liquid to gas to gas again.
