About I am 22 years old. I moved to Utah from Chandler, AZ in 2010 for my
undergraduate education. I began my studies in Exercise and Sports
Sciences and fell upon Recreational Therapy by mistake and ended up
falling in love with the practice and the people. I have always had a passion
for working with other people. I have been a part of different swimming
teams since I was 5 and absolutely love interacting with others. Since my
studies in Recreational Therapy began, I have come to find that children
with disabilities, and more specifically autism, seem to have a special place
in my heart. I think they are remarkable young people who just need the
chance to be understood.
I am currently in my fifth year at the University of Utah, I plan to graduate
in May of 2015. Being a part of the universitys swimming and diving team
took a large percentage of my time. Because of that, I have decided taking
an extra year without swimming will provide me with the best chance to get
into a masters occupational therapy program.
I am looking for a job that is flexible with my academic and volunteer
schedule for fall and spring of next year. As of right now I have nothing
concrete and would be happy to make arrangements that fit my future
employers schedules.
