MARZANOS 6 INSTRUCTIONAL STRATEGIES


Cooperative Grouping- Using groups to assist students in getting work done, any age can benefit, socialization,
roles are important, small groups work best.
Identifying Similarities and Differences- Be aware of cultural differences, multiculturalism, language, writ
instructions as much as possible, levels of understanding and behavior, personalities.
Non-linguistic and Graphic Organizers- graphic organizers stimulate brain activity, maps and charts, story
boards, problem and solution board, Venn diagram. (Dinah Zike)
Homework and Practice- helps reinforce learning, childs grade level time 10 for study time, parent role is
facilitator, mastery and understanding, self-, expectations, models, examples, practice and preparation, develop
HW policy, send notes home, comments, grade promptly, take home folder, consequences, accountability,
supports teacher parent and student communication.
Questions and Ques- Encourages participation, imagination, during instruction process, end of class recall
Advances Organizers- stimulates brain activity, understanding, and organization of thoughts.
