Language Unit:

Create a WEEBLY WEBSITE

What is the objective of this website?
Your goal is to create a website that shows what you know about this topic and can teach other
students about figurative language. What have you learned during this unit so far? Show us!

Who will you work with?
You will work with 2 or 3 other students to complete your website

What will you include?
! an introduction to the website, explaining its purpose/mission and introducing the
creators (use figurative language to do this, of course!)

! a page dedicated to idioms
! a page dedicated to similes
! a page dedicated to metaphors
! a page dedicated to oxymoron OR hyperbole OR alliteration OR onomatopoeia
(each team member choose one, this section will require independent research and
practice and will be approved by the group for inclusion on the website)

Each page must include:
" an explanation, in your own words, of the term
" 5 examples from common use in English (things people actually say)
written and spoken
" 5 examples of your own creation written and spoken or written and
illustrated
" 5 test questions for your viewers (include the answers on an answer
key page)
" at least 1 video about the topic of the page these can be short skits,
interviews, dialogues, any way you can present your figurative speech
out loud

How will you be successful?
