Reading Students will finish fables, folktales and myths this week. We will also begin reading Because of Winn Dixie.
We will continue writing in our Reading Response Journal this week. Please refer to the directions glued to the inside
cover of your students !ournal if needed. Weve been reviewing Sentences in "rammar. #n Wednesday, well assess the
students understanding of Sentences.
Spelling Spelling will be introduced later this month.
Writing We started talking about the writing process. We are still working on our $ll $bout %e writing. Were
discussing the importance of revising by using &ate 'i(amillo as an e)ample.
Math . *nit + will be mostly review and starts out with Rounding and $ddition. ,his week we will access our first
%odule on ,uesday. $fter reviewing the results of this assessment, students will be put into groups to reteach or e)tend.
,he *nit + $ssessment, will cover %odule +, %odule - and %odule .. Students will continue working on these concepts
in small math groups and in the spiral review on the back page of the homework.
Science Students will begin learning about the Scientific %ethod.
Social Studies We will start our discussion of $ncient "reece and how it has influenced the development of our
government.
