Welcome to Ms. Hardys Team
What an exciting week we have had! Our team has worked
together to create many accomplishments!
his week in writing students continue to work on their personal
narratives! hey have now created very strong leads and endings
"or their pieces! #lso$ they have been working on expanding small
moments to cra"t a more detailed personal narrative! Students
will continue to improve their master pieces next week and we will
begin to revise and editing process!
his week in reading students continue to work in their book clubs
and have meaning"ul %book talks& within their groups! hey have
also learned how to "ind a theme within "ictional literature by
using details "rom the text! 'ext week students will be "inishing
up with their book club books and choosing new books in order to
begin a new (ourney! 'ew clubs will be "ormed$ and together we
will work to learn how to summari)e what we have read!
his week in math students have began their unit on "ractions!
We have "ound that "ractions are "un! Students have learned
several ways to decompose "ractions$ and have begun to compare
"ractions! We will continue with our "raction exploration in the
coming weeks! Students will be creating stories using "ractions
and be able to use manipulatives to show their work!
his week in word study students showed that hard work pays
o"" by taking their spelling test! hey have received their new
words "or the week and have begun studying them! Spelling test
are given every hursday!
his week in Science students have explored the terms matter$
mass$ and weight! hey have created balances and have learned
that matter comes in three phases$ solids$ li*uids and gases! 'ext
week will learn the di""erent properties o" each phase!

Student of the Wee
This week I would like to congratulate Justin
Walker for his outstanding work! Justin reached
out to helping many students this week,
including helping a student who dropped all
their materials on the way to art. Justin sprung
to action and helped without missing a beat! His
general tone when speaking to others is always
courteous and helpful! He has stayed focused all
week; exceeding eery learning ob!ectie he
was gien. Thank you Justin for all your hard
