QUESTIONS FOR DISCUSSION
1. How unusual do you think the jobs like this are?
Not so unusual. I think everywhere in the Philippines has this kind of job. Many of our
kababayans jobs earn just minimum wages and sometimes it is lower than the
minimum wage. It reflects that Filipinos are living through Isang kahid, isang tuka.

2. Where do you hear about them?
In the news on radio or even watch them on television. Many documentaries shows
Filipino always live just for the day.

3. Given the competitive pressures of the international marketplace, is there anything
managers can do to avoid such situations?
Give importance to their resources, manpower, by motivating them. Help them to do the
right things and do the things right.
