Salary: 19,632 to 21,391 per annum Full Time - Permanent The University of Manchester are currently recruiting a Hygiene Technician to provide a hygiene service for all the facilitys equipment.
The duties of the job include:
To assist with the operation of pressure vessels (autoclaves) for sterilising a variety of materials To assist with the operation of cage washing machines To assist with the operation of other general cleaning and sanitising equipment Manual handling of a wide range of deliveries from loading bay to facility stores Distribution and collection of material and equipment To explain tasks, methods or other information orally to service users or senior members of the team when required.
We would like to hear from you if you have/are:
Experience within a similar role. An understanding of the principles of an autoclave to include an understanding of which cycles are appropriate for the different loads. An understanding of the principles of sanitation and how this may be achieved via the equipment available and how this differs from sterilisation. Experience of safe handling of dangerous chemicals A good understanding of the health hazards associated with the duties literate and numerate with good communication skills Experience of manual handling of heavy goods safely. Experience of operating of pallet trucks.
