    EMS or Ambulance services is the one Emergency or 911 service that is directly
    provided by the Region. It is a service relied on by all citizens when medical
    circumstances dictate a quick response. The service is provided with strict
    regulations and policies from the Provinces Ministry of Health.

    - We must continue to reduce response times for all areas of the Region
    - We need to implement the various recommendations in the Master Plan
    that deals with improved response times such as street signal control
    technology
    - We must continue to work towards a centralized dispatch system that
    includes direct one stage EMS dispatching rather than the current two
    stage EMS system
    - We need to continue to work with area Hospitals and the Ministry of Health
    to reduce off load delays at Hospital Emergency Rooms
