A CONCERT WITH THE WEATHER

Resumen de la unidad
The following Project is about the Weather and different kinds of Clothes, for students of kindergarden level. In this
project I will develop different activities in 4 sessions of 40 minutes each one. The activities that I will develop are: First,
The students will watch some videos about the weather and the clothes, then they will answers some questions about
the videos, Second the students will practice and sing a song about The Weather in teams of fourteen students, Third
the students will make a mini-album in teams of four students relating the weather with the kinds of clothes for each
weather, in where he/she will need paint, cut and paste the pictures of the copy that I will bring to each group. For the
activity of the song of the Weather I will evaluate the children with a comparison list, but for the mini-album of the
weather and the Clothes I will evaluate the children with a Rubric. Also, I made recommendations for the children with
special needs and the bright students.

dance, to see if the students recognize the

and Different clothes. First so fall, colors the
pictures related to the weather and the
clothes, then paste in the mini album: For
example: Sunny Day: shorts, t-shirt. In
where I will evaluate the following criteria:
Color of the Pictures, Relationship of the
weather with the clothes, cleaning, and
teamwork, in order to relate the weather with
the kinds of clothes.

The activities that I will develop are:

Session 1:
The Teacher will introduce the topic with some videos related to the weather and the clothes:

Then, I will ask some questions in Spanish about the videos, for example:
De qu nos habla Andy la hormiga en el video?
Cmo dice Andy la hormiga que se llama el da cuando est el sol muy brillante?
Cuntos tipos de tiempo nos mostr Andy la hormiga?
Qu tipos de ropa tenemos que usar para cada tiempo que Andy nos ha enseado?
The students will answer the questions in Spanish because she/he is a student of kindergarden. Finally, We will practice the pronunciation for
each word of the videos related to the Weather and the Clothes.

Session 2:
To introduce the class we will recognize the weather outside of the classroom in the control poster made for the teacher, I will ask: what
the weather is today? And a volunteer marks on the control poster the Weather of this day.
Then we will practice again the pronunciation of each word about the weather and the clothes in the flash cards, repeating after the
teacher.
Finally, they will listen to a song of the CD recorder related to the weather and practice the pronunciation, sequence and dance of the
song.


Session 3:
To begin, we will recognize the weather outside of the classroom in the control poster made for the teacher, I will ask: what the weather
is today? And another volunteer marks on the control poster the Weather of this day.
Second, I will divide the group in teams of fourteen students each one to practice again the song about the weather. Finally, each team
will sing the song to evaluate the knowledge about the weather. For this activity I will use a comparison list with the following criteria:
Pronunciation
sequence
tone of voice
Dance.

Session 4:
To introduce the class we will recognize the weather outside of the classroom in the control poster made for the teacher, I will ask: what the
weather is today? And another volunteer marks on the control poster the Weather of this day. Then We will review the words of the flash cards
about the topics and relate the weather with the clothes such as: In a sunny day we will use shorts, t-shirt, sandals, sunglasses. In a rainy day
we will use pants, coat, and boots. Now, I will divide the group in teams of four students each one to make a mini-album relating the weather
with the clothes. The teacher will bring a mini- album with five white sheets and 1 construction paper (cover), 1 copy with 4 kinds of weather and
1 copy with different clothes to each team then I will explain the steps of the mini-album.
First, the students will paint the pictures with your crayons.
Second, the students will cut with the scissors the pictures of the copy.
Third, the students will paste the pictures on the mini-album relating the pictures of the weather with the pictures of the clothes.
Finally, each team will decorate the cover of the mini- album with a draw about the Weather.
To evaluate the mini-album I will use a rubric in where I will evaluate:
Color of the Pictures
Relationship of the weather with the clothes
Cleaning
Teamwork

*I will help and supervise the children because They are students of kindergarden.

For the students with a special needs I will reduce the vocabulary about the weather and the clothes, but I
will integrate in the teams for the team works.
