I. We want your students to learn much succeed always! II. Class Requirements Varsity: attendance and participation in 2 speech and 2 debate events the first semester; 2 speech and 2 debate events plus 2 more events (either) in the second semester. Novice: attendance and participation in one speech or one debate event EACH semester. III. Fees $50 transportation fee required for every sport or team each year (pays for part of our transportation costs) $35 ASB card fee required once each year regardless of number of sports participating in (gets students into every game free except district finals and state games) $15 National Forensics League fee required once for a lifetime for membership in the NFL which tracks points earned by students and awards certificates and titles based on achievement IV. Skyview Boosters Club Meets first Monday of each month at 7 in the Skyview cafeteria Membership $10 each year for voting privileges Scholarships last year gave $3,500 in scholarships to Skyview students. Parents must be members for students to be eligible for scholarships Purpose support athletics, academics, and clubs Recent purchases include banners for gym and concussion screening software Raise money through the concessions building and merchandise table at games and other fundraisers and share with Skyview teams V. Fundraisers Concessions Not in the concession building, but along the gate selling coffee and Krispy Kreme donuts. Parent volunteers needed for games! Also need supplies contact us if you can help. September 26 Varsity Game (6:30) October 9 Junior Varsity Game (6:30) October 17 Hawktoberfest and Varsity Game (Time TBD) Dodge Challenge during Hawtoberfest on October 17 sign up to test drive a new vehicle and Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep will donate $20 to the Boosters. Boosters will then pass along $5 to the Speech and Debate Team. More information to come. Merchandise Table/Spirit Pack Clothing and accessories will soon be available with the Skyview Speech and Debate logo. They will be available in a spirit pack which can be ordered online, and will also be available on the Boosters merchandise table at the games. Great idea for Christmas gifts for family members! A portion of the sales goes to the team. Car Washes last carwash on 9/6 brought in $523. We plan to do more carwashes as needed. VI. Tournaments Dress code professional dress Chaperones needed for overnight trips and tournaments Water/snacks donations needed for each tournament bus ride Judges one judge required for every 6-8 students competing. We can pay the tournament hosting school for judges, or we can train and bring our own parent volunteers as judges. VII. Judges Training will be available twice in October dates TBD VIII. Canyon County Classic November 21-22 We need judges for our own student count as well as for other schools who do not bring their own. Concessions Boosters has offered us use of the inside concessions (in the hallway outside the gym) for both days. They will take an inventory count before and after the event and charge us their cost. We keep all profit for the team. We will need volunteers. IX. Overnight Trips Cost - $25 per student when there are three students in a room ($75 a room). Which trips Twin Falls, 12/5-6/2014; Rigby, 3/13-14-2015; Pocatello, 4/10-11/2015. Chaperones needed! X. Communication Student handouts ask your student to share the handbook there are plenty for each student and parent.
