"Manufacturing for Educators Day.


Why participate?
Help students connect their classroom experiences to the real world
Gain industry experiences to help prepare students for the world of work
Connect the skills learned in the classroom to the skill needs of industry
Learn how the daily functions of manufacturing sites relate to your lessons
Learn about the advanced technologies used in todays manufacturing
Identify local manufacturers who recognize the WorkKeys assessment



What will I do?
Educators will:
1. Visit local manufacturers and identify the manufacturer's process
2. Learn about the variety of careers and skills necessary to operate a manufacturing facility
3. Learn of career opportunities available for students after graduation
4. Create authentic lessons and hands-on activities that align with the work expectations of the visit
5. Learn about the WorkKeys assessment
6. Learn about local youth apprenticeship programs
7. Create a "back home" plan to share the lessons and hands-on activities with other educators,
administrators and/or parents
