Guidelines for Scheduling Your IT Project

You have an idea or project that you would like to develop with the Information Technology Services Department but
you are unsure about what steps you need to take. These guidelines will step you through the process.
1. You need to inform your manager about this idea and make sure that it meets with hisher approval. !lease
designate a contact person for this project.
". The ne#t step is to define your project and have a clear aim of what you are planning to achieve. You can
begin by filling out the following form. Some of the $uestions may re$uire you to call IT Services to gain the
answers. !lease call the IT helpdesk and they will direct your call to the correct person.

,. Your re$uest will then be reviewed and you may be asked to provide more information. &fter the *ITS
manager has studied your proposal it will either be accepted or rejected and you will be informed of the
decision.
-. If it is accepted the ne#t step is scheduling. Your project will be compared to the other projects that the
library is deploying. It will be prioriti.ed and scheduled. There are times when your project may be
bumped either backwards or forwards on the schedule due to unforeseen circumstances.

date with the progress and any problems that occur.

considered complete.
