Dear Parents/Guardians,

SAC Prep 5
th
and 6
th
graders will be attending three field lessons this school year. We will be going to the California
Academy of Sciences in San Francisco; California State University, Sacramento; and an overnight camping trip with 4-H
On the Wild Side environmental education program at Camp Gold Hollow in Nevada City.

At S.A.C. Prep, we strive to teach our students that field lessons are a privilege. Due to the limited number of seats
available, criteria have been developed to ensure that students who attend the trip have worked hard, been nice, and
prepared all year.

The criteria for eligibility are:
1. Homework Students must turn in homework on a regular basis (80% turned in throughout the school year.)
2. Attendance Students must have good attendance. No excessive absences during the school year.
3. Behavior Students must have excellent behavior Having no more than one referral, or suspensions issued to
the student this school year. Students must not have served detention more than twice starting on Monday,
October 6, 2014. Students must follow the commitment to excellence contract.
4. Grades Students must have passing grades in all of their classes at the time of the trip.

We also reserve the right to exclude any student from attending for any of the following reasons:
referrals / detentions
excessive disruptions
fighting
dramatic drop in grades
uncooperative behavior
making rude, unfriendly, or disrespectful verbal responses, gestures, or
posturing directed at an adult or peer
