Remember that good speech develops with practice. It is extremely important that you practice good
speech sounds every day.
Below are some ideas for practicing your sounds. ou don!t have to do everything listed" find what works
for you and use it. #hese activities can be adapted$ expanded and improvised for any given situation.
%ractice sessions that are &'() minutes on a regular basis are more beneficial than longer
sessions that are held infre*uently.
+ake practice fun, #ry to come up with riddles or play games using your target sound.
+ake up tongue twisters$ a memory game$ play tic'tac'toe$ or play a guessing game using your
sound. -or example$ .I am thinking of something that I see in the sky at night.. #his can be
done anywhere /riding in the car$ getting ready for bed$ at the breakfast0dinner table1 and other
family members can get involved in the practice too,
Books and maga2ines are a good way to elicit target sounds. %ractice target sounds as you read
a book. 3hen you are finished reading the book$ retell the story using your good speech sounds.
