f o r , Trevor Keen Candidate for Central Ward P: 0405 970 886 E: trevor.keen@gmail.com W: http://trevorkeen.weebly.com Local Sport and Recreation The Community Need: - The Mt Barker District has many sporting clubs and facilities, but whilst some clubs thrive, others struggle. Future growth will place more strain on current facilities and its imperative that planning for the future considers the sporting and recreation needs of the Mt Barker community. What I will do: ! I will work through Council in linking all sporting clubs to available Local, State and Federal funding sources, maximising the return to the local community. I will ensure that all future planning and development submissions understand the need to include suitable sporting and recreation facilities for the community. A healthy community is a great community! Rates: a Constant Challenge! The Community Need: - Council is faced with spiralling costs and the diverse needs of a rapidly growing population. The infrastructure requirements are large and complex and though costly initially, are able to be used by the community over many, many years to come. Managing this process and delivering real value and real outcomes is the challenge for the new council. What I will do: ! I will ensure that the District Council of Mount Barker remains true to its long term nancial plans and in fact is able to deliver real outcomes and the value that the community deserves. Careful consideration of all nancial decisions, delivery of expected outcomes and value for many are my key focus areas.
