The Early Republic Of Rome

1. In a few decades after 600 B.C. Rome started to grow.

An Etruscan became the king of Rome



Rome was made up of a lot of hilltops.

2. The last king was a harsh tyrant so after his ruling they had a republic.

The republic was created



Only male-born citizens could vote

3. There was two groups called the Plebeians and and Patricians.

Patricians had the most power.



Plebeians were usually farmers, artisans, and
merchants.

4. Tribunes were the plebeians choice as their representative.

Tribunes protect the plebeians rights.



Patricians say that their ancestors gave them
the right to make laws.

5. A group of 10 officials made Romes laws

The creation of the law code was Romes


greatest achievement.

They were carved on 12 tablets/tables.
