Unit 33 & 5 Critical Approach to Media

Evaluation of work



As a class we had developed a series of qualitative and quantitative
questionnaires and surveys to gain knowledge of facts and figures of audience
demographics but most importantly the psychographics and the varied opinions
of the subject. The information we gathered was placed in graphs to get a general
understanding of the class, but we had also created a qualitative questionnaire
that detailed the students opinions in open-ended questions as appose to simple
yes/no questions, this way we had a more in depth view into the opinions of the
student. Throughout the unit I have learn how the profiling of students can be
very varied as each individual has either a passive or active view of their
personal psychographics and collective demographics.

I believe my final video turned out very well, the planning of the questions made
for a successful and professionally planned interview at the end of learning
outcome one. The qualitative research we had gathered from the classroom gave
us knowledge and as a team we collaborated and infused each others findings to
overall have an understanding of the subject. Because of this we had managed to
produce a time efficient schedule for effective work and planning, once we had
finished collecting data from the students we comprised a thought out set of
questions witch we interviewed students and filmed the occasion.

The work turned out very well in the end once the editing and final adjustments
were made to my video. If I were to make any changes next time, I would gather
more information of quantitative data as it can become useful when comparing
and making averages for the classroom. I believe that if I had a gained some more
examples of quantitative information, I would have had a wider knowledge of the
facts and figures of the subject witch may have been useful when creating
questions. Therefore I believe I created a successful video through productive
pre-production and teamwork, but I could have gained more knowledge of
figures through research on the internet.
