Crosstraining is the use of more than one aerobic activity to achieve cardio
respiratory fitness. For example, runners may use swimming, cycling, or rowing
periodically to replace running in the training routines. Crosstraining allows
certain muscles groups to rest and injuries to heal. In addition, crosstraining provides a
refreshing change of pace for the participant. You will probably enjoy your fitness
program more if you vary the activities by crosstraining.
