Using animals for medical experimentation is morally wrong.

Medicine is a rapidly developing science today. Because of that, it needs more

experimentation and more animals, which are widely used for testing. It raises a
controversial issue: is using animals for medical experiments good or bad? Some people
think that it is morally wrong as animals die after most of experiments, but other insist that it
is necessary for the future development of medicine and biology. Both arguments are strong
and reasonable, so it is quite difficult to choose only one.

Human welfare cannot be justified by harming animals. They are not obliged to die for
humans as they are creatures too and have their rights to live normally. Nearly one million of
them are used for medical experiments which are performed without anesthesia as it may
affect the results. Because of that, animals can be hurt or killed painfully. They are weaker
than humans so we often use our natural superiority to torment them for our personal
interests. But ask yourself: is it morally right to do so?

On the other hand, some animals are specially bred for medical experiments. They also live
in good conditions and are quickly killed after experiments without feeling pain. Medical
experiments help scientists to estimate the potential of new medicaments' risks and dangers.
Because of that, researchers can understand their mistakes and enhance these new drugs. It is
really necessary as many of them were invented by this way and saved millions of people
lives. If we prohibit medical experimentation, we will not be able to invent as many safe
drugs as we did before. Moreover, the progress in medicine and biology will decline.

We can see that both arguments for and against are really strong and it is difficult to agree
only with one of them. I think that it is important for society to continue medicine
developing, so we have to do it. To diminish negative effects of these experiments we have
to decline the number of using animals, give them better conditions and minimize pain from
experiments.
