The chal l enge of the Quran, i s to produce a si ngl e
Surah (chapter) like the Surahs it contains. The same
chal l enge i s repeated i n the Quran several ti mes.
The chal l enge to produce a Surah, whi ch, i n beauty,
el oquence, depth and meani ng i s at l east somewhat
similar to a Quranic Surah remains unmet to this day.
A modern rational man, however, would never accept
a rel i gi ous scri pture whi ch says, i n the best possi bl e
poetic language, that the world is flat. This is because
we live in an age, where human reason, logic and science
are given primacy. Not many would accept the Qurans
extraordi nari l y beauti ful l anguage, as proof of i ts
Di vi ne ori gi n. Any scri pture cl ai mi ng to be a di vi ne
revelation must also be acceptable on the strength of its
own reason and logic.
Accordi ng to the famous physi ci st and Nobel Pri ze

study the Quran, and analyze whether the Quran and
Modern Science are compatible or incompatible?
The Quran i s not a book of Sci ence but a book of
Signs, i.e. Aayaats. There are more than six thousand
Si gns i n the Quran of whi ch more than a thousand
deal with hard core Science.
We all know that many a times Science takes a U-turn.
I n this book I have considered only established scientific
facts and not hypotheses and theori es based on mer e
assumptions and not backed by proof.

BARRIER BETWEEN SWEET AND SALT

He has let free the two bodies

Between them is a Barrier

[Al-Quran 55:19-20]
I n the Ar abi c text the wor d barzakh means a

means they both meet and mi x wi th each other .
Ear l y commentator s of the Qur an wer e unabl e to

Thi s phenomenon i s al so menti oned i n the fol l owi ng

Thi s phenomenon occurs i n several pl aces, i ncl udi ng

The i nter nal waves cover the deep water s of

The darkness begi ns bel ow the i nternal waves.
Even the fi sh i n the depths of the ocean cannot

The Quran descri bes thi s aptl y:
Dar kness i n a vast deep ocean over whel med wi th
waves topped by waves.
I n other wor ds, above these waves ther e ar e mor e
types of waves, i .e. those found on the sur face of
the ocean. The Qur ani c ver se conti nues, topped

These cl ouds as expl ai ned are barri ers one over the
