PRACTICE BEHAVIOR 4.3 RECOGNIZE AND COMMUNICATE THEIR UNDERSTANDING OF THE IMPORTANCE OF DIFFERENCES IN SHAPING LIFE EXPERIENCES. I SHOULD NEVER ASSUME THAT I KNOW THE REASON AS TO WHY A CLIENT IS THE WAY THAT HE OR SHE IS. I WILL ALWAYS LEARN A CLIENTS HISTORY AND MAKE SURE I AM HELPING HIM/HER MAKE THE DECISIONS THE BEST BENEFITS THEM.
VIEW THEMSELVES AS LEARNERS AND ENGAGE THOSE WITH WHOM THEY WORK AS INFORMANTS. ITS NOT ONLY MY JOB TO HELP THE CLIENT, BUT TO LEARN FROM THEM AS WELL. MY CLIENT SHOULD TREATED WITH RESPECT AND AS A PERSON, NOT A STRANGER.
