PSAT
What is the PSAT?
It's a standardized test that provides practice for the
SAT. It also gives you a chance to enter NMSC
scholarship programs.
The PSAT Measures:
Critical reading skills

Math problem-solving skills

Writing skills


PSAT Testing Strategies
Timing
The PSAT has 5 sections:
1. Critical Reading
2. Mathematics
3. Critical Reading
4. Mathematics
5. Writing Skills

You will have 25 minutes each for sections 1 4 and
30 minutes for Section 5
Scoring
Correct answer: + 1 point

No answer: 0 points

Incorrect answer: - of a point
Educated Guessing
If you can eliminate one or more choices as wrong,
you increase your chances of choosing the correct
answer and earning one point.

If you cannot eliminate any choices, move on. You
can return to the question later if there is time.

For example:
