INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION

INTRODUCTION
The Industrial Revolution was the transition
to new manufacturing processes.This change
included going from hand production
methods to machines, new chemical
manufacturing and iron production
processes, improved efficiency of water
power, the increasing use of steam power
and the development of machine tools. It
began in Great Britain and within a few
decades had spread to Western Europe and
the United States.
Meaning of Industrial Revolution
Industrial Revolution, in modern history, the
process of change from an agrarian, handicraft
economy to one dominated by industry and
machine manufacture. This process began in
England in the 18th century and from there
spread to other parts ofthe world.

distribution of wealth, the decline of land as a

a craftsman working with hand tools, he
became a machine operator, subject to factory
