FULL WAVE BRIDGE
For the bridge circuit, current is
transferred from one pair of diodes to
the other pair when the source changes
polarity.

The voltage across the RL load is a full-
wave rectified sinusoid, as it was for the
resistive load.
OPERATION OF THE BRIDGE RECTIFIER
Where vs (t) > 0 the D1 and D2 are
on while D3 and D4 are off :
The Positive Half-cycle
Where vs (t) < 0 the D1 and D2 are
off while D3 and D4 are on :
The Negative Half-cycle
R-L LOAD ANALYSIS
Using Fourier Series, output voltage is described as:
R-L LOAD ANALYSIS
The DC Harmonic current are:
EXAMPLE
Given a bridge rectifier has an AC source Vm = 100 V at
50 Hz, and R-L load with R = 10 ohm, L = 10 m H

a) Determine the average current in the load
b) Determine the first two higher order harmonic of the
load current
c) Determine the power absorbed by the load
ANSWER
Diketahui :
