Summary of the Site BrainPop is website of educational resources founded in 1999. They
provide students with different tools for learning Science, Social
Studies, English, Math, Engineering, Health, Arts and Music. There
are a lot of different resources for students and educators in this
website such as videos, worksheets, games, and quizzes. There are
even some lesson ideas for lesson plans. One drawback of this
website is that it is not all free, there are some free topics but with
limited access.

Target Readers The resources in this website are meant for middle school students,
but I would even suggest using it in high school as a simple
reinforcement activity or as an engage in a 5E lesson plan.

Reading Strategy Graphic Organizer
Description: While watching the videos, students could fill out
graphic organizers about it. Video clips should be shown at least
twice. Show it once, then have the students fill out as much as they
can on the graphic organizer. Students can share what they have
with a partner so they can cooperate in completing the organizer.
Show the video a second time, students fill out more information on
the graphic organizer. Then, students can share with their partner
one more time to interact with each other. One example of a graphic
organizer could be a defining map. Use a page in their composition
books to set up a defining map. A circle in the middle with one word
or phrase that matches the videos topic then students write facts
that may define this word or phrase around it while watching the
video.

Modifications The videos have closed captions, and if technology is available the
students could watch these videos individually on their own pace.
Using a graphic organizer with another students is a way of
grouping interactions for students to work together.

Additional Activities There are other activities available for students if they are working
on it individually, there are games and quizzes and other related
topics that they could explore.
