22 is Over/Under
Thanksgiving Banquet
In 2000 the United Methodist Church started preparing and serving a Thanksgiving banquet to those in
the Fairfax community who
were over 60 years of age.
That year and the next several years they served more
than 80 community members and all had a wonderful
time of fellowship and good
food. Unfortunately, over
the years our community
has decreased in size and
so has the number of banquet guests. The committee
wants to continue serving
this Thanksgiving banquet,
and are opening up the invitation to persons of any age.
If you have attended the
banquet in the past, and

know someone who hasnt,

please invite them. Anyone
who would enjoy a free homecooked meal is welcome (no
matter the age), to join them
November 22, at 12:00 noon
in the UMC fellowship hall.
As usual, there will be turkey, mashed potatoes and
gravy, dressing, green beans,
salads, rolls, and desserts.
Committee members enjoy providing the meal and
the fellowship that goes
along with it. They hope to
fill the fellowship hall with
many people enjoying good
times and good food. If you
are unable to get out to come
to the church, call 686-3314,
and they will deliver.

EA Wolves
Football

by Miles Murry
The East Atchison Wolves
played the Rock Port Blue
Jays on October 31. It was a
good game. In the first half
the Wolves started with the
ball. In the first quarter the
Wolves scored to make the
6-0, then the Blue Jays went
3 and out. The Wolves had
the ball again and scored,
making the score 12-0. The
East Atchison Wolves were
leading the Blue Jays at the
half.
During the second half of
the game the Blue Jays got
the ball and scored on a big
drive to make the score 12-8.
The Wolves got the ball and
went 3 and out. The Blue
Jays got the ball again and
were stopped.
It was mostly a defensive battle for both sides of
the teams. The start of the
fourth quarter came around,
and it was still a defensive
battle until the clock was
down with about two minutes left on the clock. The
Blue Jays had the ball and
scored on a big play to make
the game 12-16. The clock
was almost to 0. Rock Port
got the ball and knelt to run
out the clock.
The Wolves played a
tough game but were just a
little short making it to the
next round in the playoffs as
the Wolves lost 12-16.
The East Atchison Wolves
had a good season this year
with the new co-op. We all
just have to wait and see
about next years season
to see the East Atchison
Wolves back into action. GO
WOLVES!!!!!
