Exhibit: Biology DNA Test and Evolution Test

Benchmark: Academic
Skill: Top two pieces of work for Science

During my freshman year of high school, I took Biology. My teacher for that class was Mr.
Baumgartner. Biology is a sophomore class but during the time I lived in Georgia, I was already
taking it in ninth grade. By the time I moved back I was already ahead so they went ahead and
put me in biology. I was the only freshman in the class so I felt pretty smart. We also stayed
active in that class because we did many labs. I enjoyed the class because science is very
interesting to me.
While I was in biology, we learned about cells, punnett squares, evolution, DNA, etc. In chapter
13, we learned about DNA/RNA. This is when we were taught how to do punnett squares in
order to work with different chromosomes and determine the result of the genes. On this test, I
received an 80%. During chapter 16, we learned about Charles Darwin and his theories about
evolution and natural selection. He gave us very detailed notes to study because he gave us a
packet for each chapter to fill in. The packets covered every section in detail. When I took this
test, I got a 90% on it because I studied a lot for it.
When I go to college, there will be really hard classes or class that I might not interest me but are
required. I will need to do anything to do well in it and keep my grades up. I will have to study
for hours and make sure that I know everything about that class. I will have study groups and
have people look check over my work to see if I did it correctly. To become a radiologist, I will
need to be able to make sure that everything is perfect and that there are no mistakes. I cant
make mistakes when other peoples lives are at risk.
