Sipa/Sepak Takraw Ground Rules
1. The tournament will be run in accordance with the rules of the International SEPAK TAKRAW
FEDERATION (ISTAF) currently enforced.
2. The Tournament Manager shall prepare the rules of the tournament.
3. The tournament shall be played double elimination.
4. A team shall comprise of 3 regular players and 1 alternate for elementary and 12 players for
secondary.
5. Substitution of player is allowed on request of the official coach to the official referee when the
ball is not on play.
6. Substitution can only be made once during any match/set.
7. All protest shall be handed over the tournament manager within thirty (30) minutes after the
match.
8. No protest will be entertained regarding judgment calls of the referee. Only technicalities of the
game may be protested.
9. Teams should be at the venue at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time and should already
warmed up five (5) minutes before the scheduled time while equipment to be used are being
inspected.
10. A grace period of fifteen minutes shall be given to the non-appearing team after the scheduled
playing time. Non-appearance of a team after a grace period will automatically forfeit its game
with a final score of 2-0 and the Tournament Committee will meet immediately to decide on
further sanctions.
11. After the match, players and coaches are required to shake hands of the opponents and
officials.
12. Players and coach(es) under the influence of liquor are not allowed within the vicinity of the
playing area.
13. Attendance is a must for coaches and officials during the solidarity.
14. Officials should be at the playing court 45 minutes before scheduled time to check the condition
of the court, net, balls and other.
15. Officials will confer with one another prior to the match and they must be wearing proper
officiating uniform and paraphernalia.
16. Officials must not wear identifying masks that will recognize them to any division.
17. Coaches shall wear proper attire during the competition. Shorts and slippers are not allowed.
18. In filing a protest, a filing fee of 500.00 will be charged.
19. In case of unfinished games due to weather condition or other incidents, games will start in 0
point again as it resumes.
20. Lack of entry of players automatically declares the opponent as the winner.
