ODISHA CUP 2023 (TENNIS BALL) - MATCH RULES AND PLAYING CONDITIONS
A. TOURNAMENT:
1. Matches to be played in Al Dhaid Cricket Village, Sharjah & Final match – Dubai, Sharjah, or Ajman –
depend upon availability.
2. Hard tennis Tennex balls shall be used (Red ball) as decided last year.
3. League matches are of 15 over each innings and maximum of 1 hour 15 minutes per innings including
break.
4. Semi-finals and Final are 20 over each innings.
5. Tournament entry fee will be AED 1350/- Per team.
B. ORGANISER:
Odisha Cup organizing Committee of UAE is organizing this tournament for the nine years in a row and
responsible for the following:
1. Shall provide a match schedule of the tournament to each participating team and reserves right to
change the schedule due to ground availability and natural calamity.
2. Shall arrange the ground suitable to play all the matches.
3. Shall appoint umpires before the match, to conduct and control the games.
4. Shall provide stumps and balls during the match.
5. Organizer will provide 1 bus (60-seater) from Jabel Ali, Al Quoz and Sonapur to ground for the
tournament. Seats will equally share with the teams as per the schedule.
C. TEAM:
1. All participating teams shall provide a maximum list of 19 players including manager on/before
07-September-2023. There will be no changes in players list after the deadline date for
submission. All the participant players in the tournament should be of Odisha, should know and
speak Odia. Each team shall provide Emirates ID or Valid residence visa, or EID registration copy
of the team players. Team manager also can be part of the team and play provided he is one of
the 19 players list. Upon requirement Organizers can ask for Passport copy of the player.
If any player passport issued outside of Odisha, then he must be submitting any proof that his
parents belong from Odisha. There will be no more modification of the players once team declare
their 19th squad as per deadline.
2. Players cannot be exchanged between any teams during the period of tournament. It is immaterial if the
player is in playing 11 or not in any one team. The Team may sign up individual declaration with its
playing members and provide to technical committee if demanded. The Team will organize its playing

members and provide their name of playing eleven together with the name of the team manager before
15 minutes of each match.
3. Shall arrange sports equipment for its players.
4. Existing or new non-Odia players is strictly prohibited from Odisha Cup tournament.
5. Each teams Manager is responsible to check the score in Crichero app while the match is running. after
the match end, changes will not be entertained as it might affect on the results.
6. The Team shall participate in all required, league matches, semi-finals, and finals until completion of the
tournament.
7. Non-Jersey player not allowed inside the field even for supplying water for players and every team
player must wear proper team jersey while playing the match.
8. Failure to participate any scheduled match of the tournament, automatically qualify the opponent team.
In case any team with draw from in the middle of tournament, then the team will be ban for next year
tournament as well.
9. The Team shall adhere to the Code of Conduct as below on field during the whole tournament and abide
by the action taken by Organisers retain the right to put a ban on the team for next year tournament.
D. CODE OF CONDUCT:
1. Reach or report at the scheduled match ground 30 minutes before the scheduled match time.
2. Each team player shall be in uniform cricket dress to maintain the decorum in the field.
3. The Manager of the Team is responsible for the conduct of its individual players both on field and off
field. Any misbehaviour may attract suspension of the player or the team from the match or the
tournament.
4. There will be no argument by any players with umpires or with opponent players.
5. If any player name contains in the team list of 19 player, he cannot comment/physical with any
other opponent teammates on field or off field as this tournament purely organized to keep the
brotherhood alive among us. If any such case appears then organizer will ban that player or team
from the tournament with immediate effect.
6. No alcoholic beverage, no drugs or banned substances shall be consumed during the match on ground
or off ground by any member of the Team, supporters or no one shall be playing with influence of
alcohol or banned substances. Finding such offence shall disqualify the player and that player cannot
be substituted. Team will play with remaining players. The player(s) will be banned for the whole
tournament and team may also be banned or lose point.
7. No boisterous taunting to umpire, tournament official, or player in a negative manner.
8. Avoid embarrassing negative remarks aimed at any player while he is playing game.
9. No physical confrontations with umpires, managers, league officials, or fans

E. Technical Committee roles and match rules:


1. The role & responsibilities of technical committee would primarily be on the field and during the match
and see through the execution of the match including scorecard and inclusive of the below but not
exclusive:
2. In case of inclement weather, bad light or other unforeseen circumstances during the match, Technical
Committee has the sole authority to enforce either the rescheduling of the game or dividing the points
equally as the case may be.
3. If weather ruins the reserve day of a league match, points will be divided. For the final match trophy
will be shared between both the team along with prize money.
4. Tiebreaker rules: At the end of each game, if the score is tie then super over will be played and the team
that score more runs than the opponent in a super over, will be declared as the winner. If the super over
ends in a tie, in keeping with the basic principle of scoring more runs than the opponent to win, the
Super Over will be repeated until one team has more runs than the other (applicable in league, semi-
finals and final matches).
5. There shall be power play of 4 overs in 15 over matches and 6 overs for 20 overs matches. Maximum
two fielders can be fielded outside the 30-yard circle as per ICC field restrictions.
6. For safety point of view each players including batters and wicket keeper are allowed to wear cricketing
accessories.
7. Captains or Team Managers must exchange line-ups prior to spinning the toss. The toss must be spun no
later than 10 minutes prior to the scheduled start of the game. At the scheduled start time both teams
must be present on the playing field.
8. In the new MCC Laws, effective October 1, 2022, a new batter will be on strike following a caught
dismissal even if the previous batter had crossed in the middle before the catch was taken.
9. UMPIRES DECISION IS FINAL. Umpires will have authority to take disciplinary action against any player
or the team if they deem fit for violation of spirit of the game. Umpires shall report about above
occurrences to the Organizers at the end of every match.
10. It is unfair if the bowler fails to notify the umpire of a change in his mode of delivery. In this case the
umpire shall call and signal NO ball.
11. Underarm bowling shall not be permitted and will be declared as dead ball by the umpire.
12. Overstepping by the bowler or any ball bowled over the waist of striking bats man directly, will be
declared no ball.
13. If any bowler bowled over the waist of striking batters directly, then umpire will give 2 warning and
will be declare as no ball. If the bowler continues the same after 2 warning them umpire will be
restrict him to bowl during the rest of the match. Any bowler restricted by umpire due to over waist
bowling, then the bowler will be not allowed to bowl anymore rest of the current match.

14. All kind of no ball will be awarded as “Free hit”.


15. Chucking Rules: If umpire found any chucking from the bowler, then he will give first warning, which it
will continue till match end. After first warring, the next balls will be declared as no ball. Appropriate
action will be taken by the umpire in the ground.
16. A batters will not be ruled out LBW and there by no leg byes will be awarded to the batters. But runs for
bye and overthrow will be considered. But runout will declare by umpire if batters try to take run on leg
bye.
17. Maximum 5 fielders can be fielded on the leg side and outside the 30-yard circle during non-power play
overs during the game. At any given point in time during the match, minimum 4 fielders must be inside
the 30-yard circle excluding the bowler and wicket keeper.
18. Any in-disciplinary action by any team/player cannot be solved by technical team / organizing
committee, will be referred to disciplinary committee for further action.
19. Each team to get 1 DRS, one each in each innings, wherein main and leg umpire should consult each
other about the decision and announce the final decision, again UMPIRE’S DECISION IS FINAL, hence
whichever way the final decision may go, teams need to abide by it (introduced in Odisha Cup-2018
edition for the first time based on the resolution in the meeting with captain and managers)
20. Game rule(s) not cover in this, shall be governed by ICC T-20 rules.
F. WAIVER:
The Team takes the responsibility of the individual member of its team whether playing or sitting inside or
outside the field. Odisha Cup Cricket Organizing Committee, UAE is not responsible for any individual member
or team on any happening during the game inside or outside the filed. Each player plays on one’s own
responsibility or the responsibility of the Team. Any physical/mental injury to any player during the match shall
not attract any liability to Odisha Cup Cricket Organizing Committee, UAE. By signing this agreement, the Team
has released UAE for any such responsibility/liabilities.
G. GOVERNING LAW:
The Laws of United Arab Emirates shall govern other terms and conditions not mentioned.
By signing this document both the Organizer and Team shall accept all the terms and conditions mentioned. The
E-mail (electronic) acceptance of this document shall be treated as physical signed documents for all purposes.
We request all the teams to extend their cooperation and support to conduct the event peacefully and
successfully.
