The travel time for solid waste vehicles to the


landfill site is one of the major components
of inefficiencies and high operation cost of
solid waste management.

In order to minimise the inefficiencies and high


operation cost, this study seeks to ascertain
how time of travel of solid waste vehicles are
affected by;
Day of the week
Time of day
Distance between transfer station and landfill
site.

The travel time together with distances for


each of the transfer stations to the landfill
site were taken for four(4) consecutive weeks
(i.e. 7 days in each week) with different time
of day (morning, afternoon and evening)
