Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide (Starwood or 'the company') is a hotel and leisure company.
The company has 1,200 properties in nearly 100 countries. It is headquartered in Stamford,
Connecticut, and employed about 181,400 people as of December 31, 2013.
As of December 31, 2013, the company's network of hotels and resorts consisted of approximately
1,161 hotels with approximately 339,200 rooms, of which 47 hotels are owned or leased or in which
the company has a majority equity interest, 563 hotels are managed by the company on behalf of
third-party owners and 551 hotels are franchised. Starwood's key hotel brands include St. Regis,
The Luxury Collection, W Hotels, Westin, Le Meridien, Sheraton, Four Points, Aloft and Element.
Barry Sternlicht is Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Starwood Capital Group, and Frits van
Paasschen is the CEO and President, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc since September

Starwood in Los Angeles


The company has 25 hotels in Los Angeles under different brands: Aloft, Four Points, Le Meridien, Sheraton,
SLS, W, Westin.
8206 rooms in Los Angeles > I think it might be more 10,000 rooms because I couldnt find the number of
rooms for some Starwood hotels in LA.
Company studies
The group has decided to study the Westin Bonaventure Hotel & Suites located in Downtown Los Angeles.
It has 1,358 guest rooms and suites. The General Manager is Michael Czarcinski since 2005.
