UST switches on 300,000 lights in annual lighting rites on Nov. 21


To usher in the Christmas celebration, the University of Santo Tomas (UST) will
light up its 80-foot Christmas tree and the more than 300,000 dazzling lights
hung around its campus on November 21 at 5:50 p.m. according to the UST
Office of the Secretary General.
On behalf of the Dominican Fathers and University administrators, leading the
annual lighting ceremony at the UST Martyrs Monument in front of the UST
Chapel is Vice Rector for Religious Affairs Fr. Filemon I. de la Cruz, Jr., O.P.
The giant tree will display ornaments depicting a winter wonderland theme,
while the Main Building faade will also sparkle with large Christmas
adornments.
Coro Tomasino and the Conservatory of Music Brass Band will put the
Thomasian community and visitors in a festive mood through singing and
playing Christmas carols shortly after the ceremony. #AVK
