CRUZ DEL CAMAL

Jayanca every year celebrates three important crosses for the community,
one of them is La Santissima Cruz del Camal, the same one that is celebrated
on May 25, in its official chapel. It is said that it was found on a hill and made
to care for and protect the people.

Every year a mass is organized in his honor, on May 24 a serenade is

organized where national artists attend, the San Salvador Church also
organizes some dances to be presented in the serenade and at midnight
there is a great firework show made by residents of the area, the streets are
decorated with pennants. Around the chapel and in the central park of
Jayanca, awnings arrive with sweets and typical snacks, as well as games of
all kinds for adults and children.

It is one of the most beautiful and respected festivities, many people and
faithful believers attend.
