COLOMBIA
FESTIVITIES
• BLACK AND WHITE CARNIVAL. This festival has its roots in the slave
rebellion that occurred in 1607 in Remedios, a town in Antioquia. At the
same time, the African community of Popayán, in solidarity with the
black slaves, demanded a day of rest, in which they would be totally free
and would not be taken into account.
• CLASSIC MUSIC FESTIVAL IN CARTAGENA. The Music Festival is held
annually in January for 9 days (from 4 to 12) and its objective is to
strengthen the bond between two souls: European and Latin American
culture. With a different theme in each version, it brings together
musicians, experts and amateur audiences around music.
• HALLOWEEN. It is a celebration where all the children come out dressed
up to ask for sweets.
• CHRISTMAS. It is a great celebration where the birth of Jesus is
commemorated and allows all families to meet and share among
themselves.
EASTER PROCESSIONS
The most important Colombian customs are definitely the traditional
Colombian festivals, which are organized without fail on festive dates.
One of these are the Holy Week processions, during which the most important
moments of Christ's death are recounted.

RELIGION
NEW ZEALAND: Nominally Christian, with the Anglican, Roman Catholic, and
