POLICY CHANGES

1) MBA Evening students are allowed to enroll in maximum two courses in a semester (including Summer
Semester). If a student has an average CGPA of 3.0 or above in the previous semester he/she should be
allowed to take three courses (excluding summer semester). Further, if he / she is enrolled in Corporate
Strategy course then one additional course will be allowed (only two courses in that semester). MBA
Project is also counted as a core course. Those MBA students who have 3 and above CGPA and have
enrolled in more than 3 courses are required to drop extra courses. Those MBA students who have
CGPA below 3 and taken more than two courses are also required to drop extra courses, otherwise the
MBA program office will have to do it.
2) MBA Morning students will take core courses in the MBA morning program. If core course is not
offered in the morning or is clashing with another core course then they may take core course in the
evening MBA Program. Those MBA Morning students who have taken evening core courses are required
to join morning core courses.
3) MBA students (both Morning & Evening) will not be allowed to take core course in EMBA program from
fall 2014 semester. They may take electives by paying the difference of EMBA per course fee.
4) MBA students will be enrolled in MBA courses first. After all MBA students registered in the course,
undergrad students with 3.5 and above CGPA (but not more than 5-10 students in one section) will be
allowed to take 500 level and above courses subject to availability of seats.
5) BBA & Non-BBA streams will be abolished from Fall 2015. There will be only one 2-year MBA
Program in morning and one MBA Evening program. There will be no effect on current students.

6) MBA Project will be enrolled in the form of groups by the respective Program Office. Students will be
required to submit names with ERP IDs of the group members to the concerned Program Office where
each group will be enrolled in separate MBA project class. MBA Project Handbook, containing important
guidelines, has already been circulated and available on the website. MBA students are encouraged to
request MBA faculty members as MBA project advisers, the list of faculty advisers is available to MBA
project web link.

The above changes have been made to strengthen IBA MBA Program keeping in view the best practices
followed around the world. The above policies would be followed in letter and spirit and I am confident
that these changes will result in better quality of education. I also understand that MBA evening students
will be very unhappy with some of these policies. But to retain IBA MBA brand and excellence we are
known in the country, we have to make these changes.
I will be very happy to respond to your questions and am looking forward to a very exciting semester.
