Summary- The purpose of this power point is to get the students engaged and
have an understanding of dehydration. The ways you can prevent dehydration as
well as what causes it.

Learning Objective- Students will use interactive power point to answer and
understand dehydration and prevention with 100 percent accuracy.

Content Standard- Standard 5: The student will understand the relationship of


nutrition to healthy living.

Accomplishment- Develop initial understanding of the importance of water to the


human body.

Drink 8 ounces of water daily

You can only go 3-5 days without water


If you are a female your body is made up of 60% water
If you are male your body is made up of 55% water

What causes Dehydration?


Over working your self in the heat

Sickness (Vomiting)
Lack of fluids (Not enough water)
Symptoms: Sleepy, Headache, dizziness, dry sticky
mouth, and dry skin

Dehydration preventions
Stay cool while being active
Stay away from sodas (Dr. Pepper, Coke, etc.)
Eat on flavored popsicles
Drink plenty of water/fluids
