Students will apply watercolor in even strokes. (MO) Students will use foreground, middle ground and background. (MO) Elements of Art (1-3) color, shape, space Principles of Design (1-3) movement, emphasis, unity Materials and Equipment: White drawing paper 12x18, pencil, crayons, watercolor paint, Styrofoam cup of water, paintbrushes, and paper towel Vocabulary (4-5): Background, Middle ground, Foreground, Landscape Art Production (based on Madeline Hunter model) 1.anticipatory set 2. state objectives 3. 2. Tell students what I expect. 3. Show pictures of animals in the savanna, what the savanna looks like, etc. 4. Start by showing the students how we will start on the project. 5. Let students do what you showed them. 6. Show them the next step. 7. Let students finish their project. 8. Hang them around the room.
