Instructional Objectives (2-3):
Students will manipulate model magic to create coils to form a pot. (MO) Students will build a form using coil techniques. (MO) Elements of Art (1-3) shape, form, texture. Principles of Design (1-3) pattern, balance. Materials and Equipment: 1 package of model magic Vocabulary (4-5): Three-dimensional, Sculpture, coil, Ceramics. Art Production (based on Madeline Hunter model) 1.anticipatory set 2. state objectives 3. Input: art history, instructions 5. check for understanding 6. guided practice 7. independent practice

1) Show students pictures of real African coil pots.
2) Tell what I expect of the children 3) Show students model magic coil pot 4) Show how to roll out model magic into coils, and tell them to try and make different patterns and tell them to be creative. 5) Walk around classroom, answer questions, and make sure students know what they are doing and that they are creating their pots. 6) Walk around the room. 7) When finished let the students walk around and took at all of the different pots.
