Corporate identity theory

I will be explaining and writing about what corporate theory is and how it works, I
will be using the british Channel BBC Three as an example.

What is corporate Identity?

Corporate identity is the image and overall persona of a business and how it
appears to the general public, customers, investors and the company employees
-Wikipedia
This contains color schemes, fonts and design that make a company recognizable
and unique from anyone else, this will help them answer questions such as,
Who are we?
What we are about

I will be using BBC Three as an example as this channels content appeals to me and
other age groups. The BBC has chosen these color schemes and fonts to appeal to the
audience and to let them identify their product instantly.
The idents used for BBC Three are very recognizable due to their random nature and
characters, which represent the channel. But with the resent changes to the channel
the characters have been removed and replaced with a more simple and abstract
ident.
The fonts used for BBC Three are simple but due to the irregularity of the font and
the color scheme it allows the logo to relate to their younger audience unlike the
very rich red of the BBC one which is more formal.

All channels on the BBC have different target audience for example BBC one
concentrates on more Informing and entertaining the older audience, it also uses a

deep red which can be associated with the red in the Union Flag which shows British
TV.
The idents for BBC one in the other hand has stayed the same for quite a long time,
depending on the following show or the days evens they would play a Football
styled ident or they would play their regular idents.
The fonts for BBC one are very clean and simple but stand out enough due to the
deep red as a background.
