Recommendation
I watched utility videos for XnView (A01), Rename-it (A02), Replace Studio Professional
(A04) and Notepad++ (B22). While all of these utilities could be useful to some extent for
translators and project managers, I would recommend Rename-it and Replace Studio
Professional as the most useful.
Rename-it is useful for consistently renaming a large batch of files from a client.
Sometimes clients have very specific file-naming criteria and request that you return the files to
them as such. If you have, for example, 50 files that the client wants renamed a certain way,
renaming them one-by-one will be a waste a time and will keep you from being able to begin
working on other clients projects. This program also is able to detect a series of numbers
within the file names and keep that series when you rename the files. This is very important as
the numbers in a file name usually have significance, and renumbering them individually will
also be very time-consuming.
Replace Studio Professional is useful for term consistency within multiple documents of
a project. Sometimes, a client may decide to change a term it wants used. Having to go
through every document and individually replace the old term with the new term would be
very
time-consuming and laborious. By using this program, you can see every instance that the old
term shows up within the documents and replace it with the new term. You are also able to
see the context of the term in the sentence and decide if you want to include that sentence in
the replacement.

Both of these tools save translators time, and therefore money, by allowing them to
make the tedious tasks of renaming files and replacing words quick and easy.
