Explanation of Data:

In the data, each trial is a different type of filter. Trial 1 is the gravel filter. Trial 2 is the sand
filter. Trial 3 is the active carbon filter. In the experiment, Trial 3 made the liquids become the
most water like. The other filters were good but in the end the active carbon did filter the
substances in the best way. In the experiment I had to construct a filter and pour the different
liquids through the gravel, sand, or active carbon. The substance then went through filter paper
and then it slowly dripped into a cup. To determine the clarity, I had to put the filtered substance
next to a cup or bottle of fresh water and compare the 2 liquids.

Conclusion:

I hypothesized that an active carbon filter would be the most affect version of filtration. In the
experiments done, my hypothesis was correct. In my experiment, I had to pour 3 different liquids
and test the most affective version of filtration between a gravel filter, sand filter, and an active
carbon filter. Even though my hypothesis was correct, I still do not know of the sand and gravel
filters, which one is the most affective. In this experiment I had to learn about different methods
to filter out impurities in contaminated water, producing clean water for people who don't have
access to it, and I also experimented with filtering different kinds of liquids. In the future I will
try to choose more varieties in the liquids I choose. My experiment benefits to the society in
helping countries that are deprived from fresh water and finding ways to help them.
