How does my masthead font represent

my magazine genre/target
audience/representation/meaning

I would like the colour of my masthead font to

be a grey/white colour. The grey will be pale,
to add the bold look rather than a dark grey
which gives off a drab appearance. The grey
stimulates the dark connotation of alternative
music and its change from the mainstream
media.

The font used in my mast head will be

Rockwell Extra Bold. This is because the look
stands out and is very eye-catching, it is
different from other fonts which represents the
genre, how it is different. Also, my target
audience is teenagers mostly (boy/girl mix
genders), and represents them as teenagers are
socially different from the rest of the world.

The colour of any cover lines on the magazine

will be a black colour, this gives off the dark
and alternative look to the usual appealing
light colours of mainstream music commonly
used.

I have decided to use Times New Roman as the

font type, this is because though the look is
sophisticated, this adds to the contrast of
mainstream music which is all over the place.
Alternative music has a standard form,
allowing a consistency of chord types and beats
throughout songs. The font represents this to
the audience and I feel it would be the best
choice to use for my cover lines.
