This document provides instructions and objectives for a drama class lesson on William Shakespeare's play "A Midsummer Night's Dream." Students are asked to consider if there is real love between Oberon and Titania. The objectives are to use relevant technologies to explore drama elements, understand the play, and analyze why Egeus is so controlling of his child. Students will read Act 1 and complete reading questions, have a quiz, and some will be chosen to play parts from the play. An exit ticket asks if Egeus would allow his daughter to marry Lysander if Demetrius is no longer interested in Helena.

A Midsummer Nights Dream
Complete the reading questions while we begin to read
Act 1, scene 1. You will turn in the Act 1 work when we
finish the Act. Also, you will have a quiz on Act 1 at the conclusion. Everyone will have a chance to read. Reading counts as a grade (because this is drama class). Students will be chosen randomly to play parts every day. If you choose not to read, you will receive a zero for the day.
Exit Ticket If Demetrius is no longer available (being in love with
Helena) do you believe Egeus will give his daughter
permission to marry Lysander? Explain. Homework: Complete any work not finished in class.
