Young Scholars Host Open House for New Curriculum
Every child is unique and should be educated as such. NEW ORLEANS - Young Scholars will be hosting an open house on November 25, 2014 from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the Lakeview Presbyterian Church located at 5914 Canal Blvd. The open house will feature a mock class day with hands on activities for students where parents will be able to observe. Participants will have the opportunity to pre-order the curriculum at a discounted price. After homeschooling 5 children for 7 years, Ty Salvant couldnt find a program that allowed her children to learn at the pace required to keep them challenged, motivated and enriched. With the help of several friends in similar predicaments, Young Scholars was born. Young Scholars is a curriculum for homeschool families or parents preparing their children for school. Young Scholars partners with its users to mentor and provide them excellent educational opportunities for their children. Users can use the curriculum individually or they can join a community of users to gain additional support. There are other curriculums and online programs for homeschoolers but surprisingly no other curriculum allows the flexibility that Young Scholars does. Additionally, Young Scholars does not believe in age minimums, rather it allows children to develop academically at their own pace. Therefore, it would be usual to see a 10 year old and a 14 year old in an Algebra 1 class. Young Scholars believes one-size fits all doesn't work with clothes and it doesn't work with education.
