Types of Verbs-English-3rd Grade

Action Verbs:
-Definition: shows an actionphysical or mental
-Someone running
-Someone catching
something
-Someone eating

Transitive Verbs:
-Definition: takes on a direct
object
-Someone seeing a dog
-Someone watching Netflix
-Someone speaking Spanish

Our lesson topic focuses on the


different types of verbs.

go over examples of these
verbs in sentence form and
analyze why each verb belongs
in a specific category.

-Madison is catching a water bottle.
Catching is an action
-The people are eating food. Eating is
an action.
