SEARCHING

INTRODUCTION

REUSE A SEARCH

Outlook 2010 makes searching your mailbox more efficient with two options:
the Instant Search which activates a Search Tools ribbon allowing you to filter
your results using various parameters, and the Advanced Search which
allows you to build a specific query to perform your search.

1) Click in the Instant Search box.


2) In the Options section of the Search Tools ribbon, click
the Recent Searches icon.
Note: Your 10 most recent searches are listed.
From the drop down list, click the word or phrase you would
like to search again.

INSTANT SEARCH
1) From Outlook Inbox, select the folder that you want to search within.
2) In the Instant Search box, enter the keyword and click the search icon or
hit Enter on your keyboard.

ADVANCED SEARCH
Advanced Search allows you to specify additional search parameters. You
can filter based on certain words, by language or type, and/or search on
content properties.
1) Click in the Instant Search box.
2) In the Options section of the Search Tools ribbon,
click Search Tools > Advanced Find.
3) Enter the desired criteria in the corresponding boxes.

3) The search results are displayed below the search field. You will also see
a new Search tab on the ribbon.

Note: To expand your search results, click on the Try searching


again in All Mail Items link that appears at the end of your search
results. The search will regenerate and filter emails from all folders
within Outlook.

4) Click Find Now.


5) Click Continue button.

Note: Search fields are specific to where you are within Outlook i.e.
Mail, Calendar, etc.
