STREAM BANK - DAY

An early afternoon. The sun is shining, the trees slowly
rustle, and the stream flows smoothly. The path is bare. An
eye of a young man looks through a the lens of a camera,
stationed on a tripod, within the camouflage of the bushes.
He watches the ripples in the water. The leaves flow in the
opposite direction. He rotates the camera in a fluid motion,
so it records the ripples flowing gently down the river. The
young man moves his head back slightly and smiles.
The young mans thumb prepares to touch the record button. A
face comes into view of his camera. The young man raises his
eyebrows. He widens his eyes. He moves his head away from
the camera lens, and peers at the person. His breathing
intensifies.
The face is that of a young woman, with blonde hair. She is
seated on the ground, with her arms and knees crossed. She
opens her palms, and rubs her chest.
The young man moves his foot. A twig on the ground snaps
beneath his feet. The young woman turns her head. The young
man shifts slightly. She turns her head back to face the
stream. She curls her arms over her knees. She rocks
backwards and forwards slowly.
The young man turns his head to the camera. He looks at the
record button. He bites his teeth.
YOUNG MAN
Oh.
He grimaces, and looks through the camera lens. The young
woman has a beer bottle in her hand. She stares at the
bottle, before putting it down on the ground. She fumbles
around in her coat pocket. She takes out some tablets. The
young man gapes. She opens the packaging of the tablets, and
puts two in her mouth. She reaches down and picks up the
beer bottle, and drinks from it. She swallows.
YOUNG WOMAN
(Exasperates)
The young woman breathes heavily. The young man puts his
hand over his mouth. The young woman puts the pills back
into her pocket. She puts her hand on the ground, and rises
to a standing position. She looks up at the sky. She looks
down at the river. She shrugs her shoulders. She walks
forward.

YOUNG MAN
Oh my god.
(Mouthed)
The water rises to the young womans socks. The young man
moves away from the camera lens. He whips his head from side
to side. He fumbles in his trouser pocket, and pulls out a
phone. He touches the bottom button. The screen flashes. He
looks at the screen.
YOUNG MAN
(Exasperates)
He puts the phone back in his pocket. He ruffles his hair,
and looks up at the sky. He looks back at the young woman.
The young woman stares down at the water. She closes her
eyes, and raises her hands out by her side.
YOUNG WOMAN
(Exasperates)
YOUNG MAN
NO!
The young woman opens her eyes and turns her head to look at
the young man. He darts to the side, and stumbles over. He
falls to the ground. He picks himself up, and brushes
himself off. He turns to look at the young woman. She has a
phone in her hand. She is filming the young man. She grins,
and wags her finger towards him, and then herself. He walks
towards her. She raises her hand, and points at the camera.
He stops walking. He turns around and walks over to the
camera. He presses the record button. He unscrews the camera
from the tripod. He looks back at the young woman, and
grimaces. She smiles. He takes the camera in his hands, and
walks towards the young woman. He gives it to the young
woman.
YOUNG WOMAN
Show me.
The young man presses a button on the camera. The footage of
the trees and river begin playing on the screen. The young
woman looks up at him, and then out at the stream.
YOUNG WOMAN
What do you think of the view?
The young man looks up at her.
YOUNG MAN
Its beautiful.
